Purple water lilies

Since the early 21st century there has been an increasing number of successful waterlily hybrids created by crossing hardy and tropical plants. This has created a new range of hardy waterlilies with colours from mauve to purple. These hybrids tend to need plenty of space to grow, and we recommend them for planting in mud bottomed ponds of a medium to large size.
