Cyperus longus (Sweet Galingale)

Description

A perennial sedge native to much of Europe, North Africa, and parts of western Asia. It grows naturally in wetlands such as marshes, pond margins, ditches, fens, and damp meadows, where its creeping underground rhizomes allow it to spread into dense colonies.

Water depth: 5 – 20cm water cover (measured from the growing point of the plant).

Height: 50-150cm.

Spread: Cyperus longus grows from a rhizome and has a clump forming habit.

Aspect: Position in full sun or partial-shade.

Hardiness: Fully hardy.
