Water Mint has sweet smelling foliage and deep lilac coloured flowers. UK native.

Water depth: 0-15cm (6″), measured from the growing point of the plant.

Height: 25cm (8″).

Spread: Mentha aquatica has a creeping habit, providing good cover around pond edges, with an ultimate spread of 1m (3ft) once established.

Flowering time: May to August.

Planting: Plant one bunch per 0.5L fine mesh basket or 3 bunches in a 2L fine mesh basket.

Aspect: Position in full sun or partial-shade.

Hardiness: Fully hardy.

We only sell healthy rhizomes with a productive crown. These should flower the same year as planting when following our instructions on caring for your water plants. Before posting your plant we wash off any soil and weeds attached to the rhizome, ensure there is no damage to emerging buds and leaves, and trim off any old growth.
